![]() You need to go out to places where you can socialise and have common interests. So personally I like metal music, metal gigs are my main place of socialising with friends and meeting new people, they take place in a variety of venues from bars/clubs, to small open air amphitheater along the river here, or whatever, I meet so many people from this alone. If you are bad at meeting people in the first place, using these apps are even worse, as it's a longer process of seeing if there's a real match when you eventually meet them, where as you can fail and succeed more often by eliminating those barriers. ![]() On apps it's unnatural and simplistic, you simply swipe right or left based on some photos, and *then* you initiate conversion, and then *maybe* you go on a date a bit later - NOW is the time where you actually see if there's a chemistry on the date - you have put up barriers for no reason leading up to this, you could have escaped all that bullshit by meeting people in real life in the first place. There's so much that represents a person's attractiveness than some simple photos that people swipe on. When you meet people in real life, you know quickly or not if there's an interest/chemistry, because it's not just your looks and theirs that matter, your/their looks also come from body language, your/their laugh, your/their smile (which is different than a static picture of it), your/their posture, your/their voice, etc. In contrast to Tinder and Bumble’s swipe mechanics, Plenty of Fish is a more traditional dating. It’s now owned by dating site, but it still has many users of its own. ![]() Plenty of Fish has been around longer than both Tinder and Bumble, started in Canada in 2003. Currently, Bumble has over 50 million active users. The plus side to using these dating apps is that they are widely known in the United States. They're all bad and I don't understand why people use them because it's putting up another barrier to meeting people. Plenty of Fish overview: an old-school pond of potential dates. Bumble and Hinge are both extremely popular dating apps.
